This is how Mantero 1902 interprets the theme of the sixteenth edition of Orticolario: en rêverie.
From the search for wonder, Orticolario’s journey evolves and rises towards a different dimension: one of dreams, illusion and imagination. Not the literal dream (from the Latin somnium, rooted in somnus, meaning sleep) as an experience that unfolds in the silence of the night, when the body surrenders to rest and the mind allows itself to be carried through unexpected images.
En rêverie is a more subtle elsewhere. It derives from rêver, which in Old French meant to wander in one’s mind.

Without coordinates, moving through landscapes to explore, places to imagine and new routes to follow. Endless Routes is the capsule collection where travel becomes a new way of seeing the world.

Orticolario is the international event for nature lovers, held every year at Villa Erba on Lake Como, during the first weekend of October. Rare plants, artisanal objects, artistic installations, and design displays are all accompanied by a rich cultural program of talks, conferences, and workshops for adults, teenagers, and children. The sixteenth edition, en rêverie, moves between dream and illusion. At the heart of this surreal dimension: fantastical plants.
