About us
Textile creations from 1902

Mantero is a family owned textile company founded in 1902, in Como, by Riccardo Mantero.
Its name can be found in the Register of Historical Companies. The Register encourages and rewards companies, which are more than 100 years-old, which have passed on a wealth of entrepreneurial experience and values to later generation.
For more than a century, Mantero has been the leader in the creation, production and distribution of men and women's luxury textile fabrics and accessories. It has a craft history which has been handed down for four generations.

The product’s creation is carried out entirely at the Como headquarters in Italy. Arts and professional skills coexist - design, weaving, traditional screen printing, digital printing, finishing, edging and quality control.
Today, Mantero’s 426 employees are the real company’s asset and use the knowledge developed and handed down over the years to different generations.

Mission
Mantero is a family business since 1902. We create, weave, print fabrics and accessories for the luxury and fashion sector. Our growth is that of our employees, customers and suppliers. We want to meet their expectations with the quality of our products and customer service. We pursue historical values based on environment respect, relationships with employees and commitment.

The Mantero Archive is considered one of the world's richest and most extraordinary textile archives. It contains more than 10,000 books, 60,000 scarfs, thousands of hand-drawn designs stored by subject, test papers, prints on fabric, joint fabrics and jacquard from the most prestigious fashion houses. With the acquisition of French, British, German and American textile archives, the Mantero archive is priceless.

Mantero Brands
In addition to contemporary, colourful and feminine Mantero 1902, the Company owns Brands with unparalleled value and relevance for the History of Fashion.
Holliday & Brown Ltd. was founded in London in 1926 and became renowned for its unmistakable prints with unique and elegant colours. It became the reference brand for gentlemen worldwide who loved Savile Row tailoring and were extremely demanding in the choice of accessories.
In 2002, Mantero Seta acquired the brand and its history and main heritage – its historical archive. Of inestimable value, the archive is a continuous source of inspiration and allows history and tradition to combine with the evolution of taste.

Painter, gardener, chef, performer, fashion designer: George Kenneth Scott - aka Ken Scott - was this and much more.
In 2019, Mantero acquired the brand and signed an exclusive agreement with the Ken Scott Foundation for the financial exploitation of the artistic heritage and historical archives. The Foundation is an independent non-profit institution which, upon the artist's death, allowed the management of his incredible legacy.
The new Ken Scott Foundation headquarters was established in a new location within the Mantero HQ in Grandate (CO).

It is a story full of images and colours, antique books dating back to the early 1700s, fabrics, magazines, photographic books and evocative materials from the past. A source of genuine inspiration for our designersto start their creative research.
