Louvre Abu Dhabi, heart of the first “Universal Museum” is opening.

Finally. A dream suspended between land and sea, in perfect balance between design and tradition.
On 11 November Louvre Abu Dhabi will be opened on Saadiyat Island, within the most prestigious contemporary art centre. This impressive structure was ergonomically designed by Jean Nouvel with a sophisticated beauty.

The museum has a structure which appears to float on the waters and a "silver dome" decorated with more than 7,000 stars.

The artificial island will become an artistic hub, a true " Universal Museum” before the desert gates. After the Louvre Abu Dhabi opening, the Zayed National Museum, designed by Norman Foster, and Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, designed by Frank Gehry will follow.

After visiting the museum, you cannot miss the Great Sheikh Zayed Mosque

Sheikh Zayed was the true godfather of the Emirates and is buried here. To access this extraordinary work of art, which is the eighth largest mosque in the world, you will need to wear appropriate clothing.

This means covering your head, hiding your hair and neck, and avoid scanty clothing.

Why not get dressed up with a charming maxi foulard or a large carré printed with floral patterns? It will be a fantastic opportunity to learn how to wrap it around your face like Muslim women (ask them to help you in doing that, they are skilled at it). Certain "aesthetic" hijab aspects emphasise your eyes and if it is well-tied, it has a delicate lifting effect on the temples.
